An Introduction
In early January the UDC Honors Program will be traveling to the Salzburg Global Seminar for the student seminar entitled, Global Citizenship: America and the World. This session is part of the Salzburg Global Seminar’s Mellon Fellow Community Initiative and is made possible by the generous support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the commitment of University of the District of Columbia.
The week will be an intense exploration of themes related to citizenship and globalization,
the perceptions of America and America’s role within the world, and the historical legacy of the latter part of the 20th century and its implications for global political, economic, social, and cultural realities today and in the future. Hosted by David Goldman and Jochen Fried, this is my journey.
It's three days to go until I fly across the world, and begin the biggest adventure of my life. Hi! My name is Tekesha Gordon. I am a 31 year old college student at the University of the District of Columbia. Before my school year began, I was presented with an unique offer to join the university's Honors Program. As a honor's student many different opportunities opened up for me. One of these opportunities was the chance for me to go to Austria, a small country beside Germany and Italy. This blog will be my chronicles on the trip.
